We are in the thick of senior portrait season here at the studio! I’m doing a pretty good job of keeping up on Instagram (Follow me if you don’t already!) but the blog has been neglected a bit. If you are a 2016 senior and you haven’t had your senior portraits taken yet there’s still time so don’t hesitate to email me. I am seriously in awe of all the New Hampshire seniors I’ve photographed so far – they are all so talented, accomplished and beautiful inside and out.
I had the opportunity to photograph Megan, a Tilton School senior. Keeping up with the tradition of this year’s seniors, Megan is super involved, playing lots of sports (softball, field hockey and club hockey) and helping out with different community service activities. Seriously Class of 2016 – you guys are making me so happy for our future! Megan’s mom had bid on, and won, her senior session from the annual Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction this past winter and Megan asked if we could go up to Ogunquit, ME where she visits every summer. I’d never been there, but the second I heard ‘beach’ and ‘ocean’ I was game. Megan brought some fantastic outfits and the coast gave us so many cool backdrops to photograph against. I definitely fell in love with the area, and would be so up for photographing there again!
What are you looking forward to in your Senior year?
I am looking forward to completing the college application process. I am excited to figure out which college will be the best fit for me. I am also happy to be spending one more year of school with my best friends.
What has been your favorite high school memory so far?
My favorite high school memory was winning the softball championship last year. We went undefeated throughout the whole season and when it came tournament time we defeated New Hampton school, which was the school we lost to in the semi-finals the year before.
How do you spend your free time?
During my free time you can usually find me dancing, swimming, skiing, or working out. I am a very active and athletic person, so I will rarely ever not be doing anything. Although, sometimes a good night on the couch watching Finding Carter is an exception.
What do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered for being the girl who always has a smile on her face because she is genuinely happy. I hope that people remember me as a successful student leader, but also someone who was friendly to everyone.
What are your goals for the future?
In the future, I want to become a nurse. I am not sure exactly what I want to specialize in yet, but I am aiming towards neonatal or pediatric. I have always known that I wanted to work in the medical field, and I can not wait to embark on the journey to get me there. (NOTE FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Nurses are amazing AMAZING people. Coming from a completely unbiased daughter of the best nurse there ever was).
The best advice I have ever received is to know how much you are worth and to never take your high school years, or your time anywhere, for granted because it goes by faster than you realize.
What’s your favorite quote and why?
My favorite quote would have to be, “Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!” by Dr. Seuss because it also reminds me to be myself because each and every person is unique. Don’t live your life my other peoples standards. Standing out is a good thing.
Megan I have absolutely no doubt that you will attain and succeed the goals you have set for yourself and your future. I am so happy to see your dedication to helping others and based on the times I’ve been around you I know that you have the right amount of caring, compassion and kindness. Thank you so much for rocking your photos, letting me be your photographer and bringing the fun to your session! I’d like to leave you with one of MY favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:
[…] mean heck yeah!!! Is there anything better than the ocean breeze and the crashing waves? And after Megan’s awesome senior photos at the coast I was eager to shoot there again. You’ve got so many backdrops to use, the […]
